Riverside Hotel
GHA were approached to enhance the appearance and improve the accessibility of a hotel and restaurant in St Ives. The Dolphin Hotel was constructed in the 1980s and has undergone various alterations and extensions since. The proposed development involves the replacement of the northern facade and ground works.
Replacing the existing facade with new glazed areas will improve the river view outlook from within the building and increase the natural light it receives. Infilling a number of spaces between existing bays will also enlarge the usable floor area. New high quality paving and composite decking at a raised level will provide level access to the interior spaces. This will aid the functionality of the restaurant and outside area revitalising the riverside frontage and improving disabled accessibility between the areas.
